We explore the hypothesis that the wireless industry is in the midst of a number of discontinuities which would mean that we cannot use the existing market growth models. Is the whole sector becoming subject to multiple simultaneous Schumpeterian disruptions? Is this the end of wireless, or just the beginning of an exciting, albeit more uncertain, new phase? What principles should be used to consider where and how to invest, and the business models which are more likely to be sustainable in the coming years?
