About the session

Bringing a new medical product to market can be a challenging process for some innovators, who may face numerous obstacles when seeking to get their technology adopted.

Long lead times, the changing needs of users and strict regulation are just some examples of the barriers they can expect to face, which they need to be aware of before setting out on their journey.

The IET spoke to several of the speakers at the recent Creative and Smart Healthcare of the Future event - co-organised by the University of Bradford, University of Lampung and IET Healthcare - about this topic.

In this video, these experts from UK academic institutions offer their thoughts on why some struggle to get their innovation into the healthcare system.
