ISPs are often highly sensitive to traffic growth because any unexpected increases in traffic directly affect network investment costs. To ensure that the next generation of traffic management policies are effective in mitigating the risk of uncontrolled capital expenditure, ISPs need to understand subscriber behaviour and the effects of implementing new policies and solutions. This presentation discusses how core datasets obtained by using DPI technology can be used to segment usage behaviour and how this insight can then drive business policy and realize a wide range of business benefits.
