  • Duration: 43 mins
  • Publication date: 28 Nov 2011
  • Location: IETTV_Room, IETTV_Venue, London, United Kingdom
  • Part of event IET Seminar on Video Data Analysis

About the session

Since the 7th July 2005 London bombings, vast amounts of video data are being captured across the civilian and defence world. The need to manipulate this data, in order to identify patterns and detect anomalies to deliver heightened situational awareness as quickly and reliably as possible, has never been so pressing. This presentation looks at: surveillance requirements, solutions and challenges; performance evaluation of tracking and surveillance; and project work: SUBITO (Surveillance of Unattended Baggage and the Identification and Tracking of the Owner), EFFISEC (Efficient Integrated Security Checkpoints) and the ARENA (Architecture for the Recognition of thrEats to mobile assets using Networks of multiple Affordable sensors) flexible architecture for protection of mobile assets.
