By any standards, the UK has a strong and inventive science base. Economic analysis shows that innovation is the key driver of productivity and thus wealth creation. Since science and technology are central to innovation, why does the UK not score higher in productivity and wealth creation? What can the various actors - businessmen, technologists, financiers and government - do better to help themselves?
