About the session
This session presents an overview of next-generation technologies in the cable industry, including the modular Cable Modem Termination System (M-CMTS), DOCSIS 3.0 specifications and IPv6. With the help of these technologies, operators can increase the operational efficiency of their hybrid fiber-coaxial networks and accelerate the delivery of advanced services. The presentation describes the key advantages of these architectures, including increase in bandwidth up to 1,000 times current rates through the use of channel bonding, IP Multicast for simulcast TV over IP and adding IPv6 to today's IPv4 networks.
