    Bristol City Council, Cabinet Member for Energy and Transport

    Kye was elected ward councillor for Central Bristol in May 2016 and was appointed by Mayor Marvin Rees to the Cabinet in December 2017 to lead on Waste, Energy and Regulatory Services. Following a Cabinet reshuffle in January 2019, he was appointed to the Transport and Energy brief.Kye has over 14 years of experience as a Trade Union Official in Royal Mail dealing with issues and negotiations at local levels in Bristol and also on a National level as a former member of the Communication Workers Union National Executive Committee.Kye is also a member of the Bristol City Centre Business Improvement District and alongside his transport responsibility is tasked with leading on the delivery of the City Leap Energy Partnership Programme which is looking to decarbonise and deliver large scale investment into the city’s energy infrastructure.
