Communication cabling has long been acknowledged as weak components in the Electromagnetic Compatibility of systems, whether large or small. However, factors such as the general increase in operating…
This presentation discusses the benefits of applying IEC 61000-5-2 to cable screen bonding and earthing: screened cables perform much better at RF; RF and transient overvoltages are better controlled; and the resulting cable screen currents do not cause 'hum' in properly designed equipment.
