About the session
Taking PEMD research from the campus to the real world
Session Chair: Will Drury, Driving the Electric Revolution
The UK has a strong and rich history of being at the cutting edge of PEMD engineering research. But in recent years, when it comes to taking this innovation from a good idea to a commercial success, the country has faced significant hurdles.
In this session, Advanced Electric Machines and its guests look at the challenges and opportunities facing the commercialisation of PEMD in the UK. We will unpick some success stories provided by our speakers and see how contemporary research is being integrated into industrial R&D.
We’ll also look at the role government plays in enabling the commercialisation of PEMD research in the UK and ask what more needs to be done to make this country a PEMD super-power in the real world.
