About the session

Only by properly recognising and measuring day to day as well as long term risks, are we able to properly implement the sophisticated measures necessary to mitigate risk and build resilience. That could mean anything from plotting climate change to make sure that critical infrastructure is built in a safe location for many years into the future, to ensuring communications satellites are hardened against cyber attacks.

    Catherine Piana

    Catherine Piana works for the Confederation of European Security Services since August 2014. CoESS acts as the voice of the private security industry in Brussels; it is the representation of the industry vis-à-vis European Institutions and key stakeholders. Catherine coordinates the industry’s position, and acts as the organisation’s spokesperson. She chairs the CEN TC 439 “Private Security Services” since it was set up in 2015 and closely follows the work on CIP in that context. She coordinated the publication of the CoESS updated White Paper on CIP and closely follows the debates and discussions on how to improve the protection of CI in the current context.Other current positions: Director General of ASSA-I (Aviation Security Services Association-International), Free Lance Influence Trainer and Coach.Previous positions: Director General of the European Vending Association; CEO of the Worldwide Vending Associations (1997-2013) PR Adviser of the Secretary General of EuroCommerce (1990-1997).Academic degrees / Certifications: Master in Translation (English-Italian-French), MBA, Master Practioner in Neurolinguistic Programming, Hypnotherapy, Trainers’ Training, NLP for businesses, Life Coaching
