About the session

Quantum internet will rely on a quantum network that can support transport of quantum information to support applications and services beyond security including:

Quantum data centre and scalable distributed quantum computing: Utilising quantum network to scale quantum computing power by interconnecting  several few-qubit quantum processors (QP) in a networked fashion resembling the structure of today’s classical mega data centres of Amazon and Google

Distrusted and highly accurate sensing : Quantum sensing technologies (quantum are able to achieve unprecedented sensing performance. Entangled quantum sensors distributed over a distance will be able to achieve measurement sensitivities well beyond current classical sensors with applications such as very accurate and high-resolution spectrum sensing or highly accurate synchronisation

This workshop aims to bring together academics and industrial R&D communities to discuss challenges and possible solutions for building a quantum network that can supports future quantum internet and in particular distributed quantum computing and sensing.
