Optimum flux distribution with harmonic injection for multiphase induction machine

This presentation investigates a non-triplen multiphase induction machine with harmonic current injection fed with different sequences for an open loop optimized flux distribution which produce a quasi-square wave in the machine air-gap. The presentation focuses on an eleven-phase machine which can be excited with harmonics up to the ninth. The technique is assessed using finite element analysis. The prototype machine is fed from an eleven-phase inverter. Simulation results for the eleven-phase dq model and prototype drive experimental results are presented.
