About the session

This presentation deals with the characteristics analysis and optimum design of an axially laminated anisotropic (ALA) rotor synchronous reluctance motor (SynRM) using a coupled finite element method (FEM) and response surface methodology (RSM). The focus is the characteristics analysis and optimum design relative to the torque density and ripple on the basis of the rotor shapes of aSynRM. In addition, comparisons are given with the characteristics of an equivalently-rated wattage traction induction motor and those of the ALA-SynRM, respectively.
