About the session

Although a permanent-magnet linear synchronous motor (PMLSM) enables high speed and high thrust compared to rotary machines, its application to long-distance transportation systems has been delayed due to high installation costs. By proposing a stationary discontinuous armature system that installs the armature only at the accelerating and decelerating part of the mover, we improved the problem of installation costs. Also, a new shape for the auxiliary teeth for the armature-end edge of this system is proposed to reduce the detent force causing noise and vibration of the equipment, and it is shown that the detent force reduction effect was more improved than existing auxiliary teeth based on optimal design using design of experiment.
