About the session

We examine the application space of uncoupled 4-core fibres in submarine cables with electrical power limitations. For a 24-fibre pair limit the maximum MCF cable capacity gain can be up to 38% if fibre crosstalk is < -50 dB/km and fan-in/fan-out loss < 0.5 dB.
