  • Location: IETTV_Room, IETTV_Venue, Manchester, United Kingdom
  • Part of event DPSP 2010 - 10th IET International Conference on Developments in Power System Protection

About the session

The electrical infrastructure will face great challenges with the coming energy transition to a sustainable and differentiated energy supply system. Although the existing grid is of reasonable age we believe that introduction of advanced secondary system technology will prolong the utilization of the current grid and shape it to become a flexible Smart Grid at acceptable cost. A visionary design is presented that fully enables the future needs of the Smart Grid without redoing the main part of the work in the secondary systems when new requirements arise.
