  • Duration: 1 min
  • Publication date: 01 Apr 2014
  • Location: IETTV_Room, IETTV_Venue, London, United Kingdom
  • Part of event Ninth International Conference on Computation in Electromagnetics (CEM 2014)

About the session

A method based on an equivalent circuit is presented to model and analyse the electromagnetic band gap (EBG) structure of power planes. The planar EBG structure is divided into cells and connecting parts, and the equivalent circuit is created by combining the multiport networks on a contour integral equation and microstrip lines. The stop band-gap of the EBG structure is obtained by circuit simulation. Furthermore, attaching lumped inductors on the plane is discussed. The proposed method is validated by full-wave simulation in the EBG design of power planes.
