  • Duration: 57 mins
  • Publication date: 03 Feb 2026

Abstract

The use of Microwave and THz Metamaterials is in the process of transitioning from the domain of specialist electromagnetics scientists and engineers to being used by systems, communications and control engineers and designers.

To better understand this moment, the UK Metamaterials Network’s Microwave and THz Special Interest Group has assembled contributions from UK academia, government and industry into a Roadmap. This sets out the state-of-the-art, draws key challenges still to be solved, and sets out recommendations for next steps in both fundamental and applied research.

This webinar will introduce and discuss this roadmap and its key findings, with particular focus on the current and future impact of metamaterials on the field of antennas and propagation.

The webinar will be moderated by Dr Viktor Doychinov, Lecturer in Electronics and Software Engineering, University of Huddersfield and A&P TN Executive team member.
