About the session

Application of fast (10ns - 1μs) BER histogram measurement to joint monitoring and separate linear and nonlinear noise-to-signal ratio calculation using a neural network is proposed. This method is experimentally validated on a 40-channel 1000-km SSMF link and  yielded less than 5 percent normalized estimation error.
