About the session

There has never been a more exciting or demanding time for the UK power generation industry. Changes such as the implementation of LCPD and the government's energy review mean that there will be many challenges for us, as generators, to meet in the future. The core of our businesses are the skilled engineers who enable us to fulfil our role as generators. Nationwide, this resource is declining through an ageing workforce and fewer graduates joining the industry. RWE npower, a leading UK energy provider, is seeking to address this potential skills gap by taking a long-term view. This presentation shows how we are investing in the future through programmes involving schools, apprenticeships and universities to attract future engineers to a rewarding career.
