About the session
Extending the focus from assets and technology to the priorities, drivers and risks of physical and data convergence, aligned with increased regulatory compliance.
The social and economic drivers accelerating the need for digital transformation of the UK’s critical national infrastructure are increasingly pressing and evident. The challenge, ensuring a holistic and enduring approach to security, one that considers the demands of the various stakeholders, infrastructure, platforms, and applications; supports and enables, rather than blocks progress. Whilst IT v OT remains a familiar topic, using real life experience, this presentation looks beyond the well-trodden, often circular technical debate, it considers the challenges those responsible for delivering the critical components of a CNI delivery face, and the conflicting components of digital convergence.
It concludes, the practical differences and approach to IT and OT security are real, can and need to be accommodated holistically. Intrinsic to this, focus, identification, and awareness of the organisations key assets, committed deliverables, and various stakeholder priorities.
