About the session

Smaller businesses often work with larger companies as a subcontractor or a partner in consortia to win government business. They also sometimes work together to develop and bring new bright ideas to market. When these collaborations work they can be transformative, but there are challenges and barriers for both SMEs and large players when collaborating. This video explores the barriers that are in place and how better collaboration can be achieved. The Connected Digital Economy Catapult is a national centre to rapidly advance the UK's best digital ideas to market. It builds platforms for small businesses to innovate on at speed and with less risk. The Catapult collaborates with companies of all sizes and with the research and academic community, among others, to achieve this aim. techUK represents the companies and technologies that are defining today the world that we will live in tomorrow. More than 850 companies are members of techUK. These companies range from leading FTSE-100 companies to new innovative start-ups. The majority of techUK members are small and medium-sized businesses.
