About the session

In this presentation, a direct-drive wind power generation system (WPGS) employing a flux-switching transverse-flux permanent-magnet generator (FS-TFPMG) is established. A maximum ratio of torque to current (MRTC) control method for the machine-side converter of the system is proposed to realize the high-efficiency operation of the generator and the maximum power point tracking (MPPT) is implemented by controlling the current of this generator. The proposed control method is capable of decreasing the output current under the same output power by sufficiently taking advantage of the reluctance torque of the generator. A simulation model and an experimental platform with a prototype are built and implemented respectively to verify the effectiveness of theMRTC control method for the direct-drive WPGS based on FS-TFPMG.
