Session 12.3 - Keynote - Health Status Monitoring Schemes of Power Electronics and Motor Drives for Railway Traction Drive Application

Electric traction drives system is the heart of high-speed EMUs or locomotives. Focusing on the AC-DC-AC power electronic converters and motor drive system, this topic will introduce the operating principle, control, and the health status monitoring technology of the key comments including power IGBT devices, stator winding of motors. First, the junction temperature monitoring schemes are discussed. Then, fault diagnosis schemes for interturn short circuit of stator winding are introduced. Finally, digital twin technology is an interesting and hot topic for high-end equipment manufacturing and maintenance. Thus, Digital twin model of the electric traction drives system is developed to monitor the health status of the key comments, and realize the parameter identification and fault diagnosis.
