Abstract
What will the impact of Brexit be on engineering in industry and academia? How can we secure the best outcomes from forthcoming negotiations?
The Royal Academy of Engineering has been asked, to lead a project to provide evidence-based advice to government on the opportunities and risks presented by the outcome of the EU referendum. The aim is to find the solutions that would help secure the best outcome for all engineering in the UK. It is vital that this advice draws on the experience and expertise of the whole engineering community and that anyone who wishes to has the opportunity to share their thoughts.
You are therefore invited to join us for a webinar at noon on Monday 8 August to hear about plans for a wide consultation. You will see the key areas for focus and how you can have your say in the advice being prepared for government. The coordinating team at the Royal Academy of Engineering will run through a brief presentation introducing the project, followed by around 45 mins for questions.
Subject-specific workshops in August will then provide further opportunities to input on particular areas of opportunity and risk. Examples are expected to include higher education, energy and the environment, and the general post Brexit industrial landscape of the UK.
We look forward sharing our ideas and receiving your input.
