GenoCAD: a Formal Language Tool to Quickly Design and Verify Synthetic Genetic Constructs

Formal language has been widely used in fields of mathematics, logic and computer science. We demonstrated it can also in used in synthetic biology to fasten the design process of synthetic biological constructs. Biologists have deciphered a set of rules which constrain the design space of genetic constructs and ensure a successful gene expression. GenoCAD technology formalized those rules in the form of context free grammar (CFG) and provides a path to organizing genetic parts library according to their biological functions, and also GenoCAD is a framework for design and verification of synthetic genetic constructs.
