Abstract
Making our existing homes energy efficient is critical. To date the majority of retrofit progress has been made within social housing: how can this be accelerated? The challenge of creating demand for owner occupier/able to pay energy efficiency improvements still remains. Identifying the demand and supply side barriers and understanding how to develop a strong consumer proposition for the growth of this market is imperative. What will truly drive retrofit? What are the benefits of a local approach? How can homeowners be segmented, targeted and communicated with to encourage take up?
Dr Richard Miller, Founder of Killer-Klein Associates, Russell Smith, Director of RetrofitWorks, Kate Watson, Senior Project Manager at Centre for Sustainable Energy and Richard McWilliams, Director and Programme Advisory at Turner and Townsend are featured in this panel.
