  • Publication date: 04 Dec 2013
  • Location: IETTV_Room, IETTV_Venue, Abingdon, United Kingdom
  • Part of event Lightning Protection for Aircraft Components

About the session

This presentation discusses: modelling approaches to ensure accurate and efficient simulation of lightning strike coupling into an aircraft; addressing the challenge of a large-scale chassis in combination with small seam and wiring aspects; effective electromagnetic (EM) modelling techniques within the CST Studio Suite for simulating composite materials such as carbon-fibre laminates at the full aircraft level; and the benefits of applying bi-directional cable coupling combined with true transient co-simulation to enable a unique and powerful capability for full system lightning strike analysis.
