About the session

This presentation discusses the experimental drive performance evaluation of a wound-field flux-switching motor for hybrid vehicle drive applications. A test machine with a maximum torque of 210 Nm and a maximum power of 123 kW expected at its design stage is built. Various experimental test results are demonstrated from the viewpoints of the maximum torque, maximum power capabilities and motor efficiency up to a base speed of 6,000 revs/min. As a result, it is confirmed that the test machine promises well as a machine with a very high power density - more than 4.2 kW/kg at the maximum power point under water jacket cooling.
