High Speed PON Technologies

This paper reports the first field trial of an optical transport solution that exploits NG-PON2 technology while using standard EDFAs. Error-free Ethernet transmission over a 10-Gbps/λ optical sub-lambda path through 252 km of field-installed DSF with deterministic frame latency is successfully demonstrated.
