About the session

This presentation provides an overview of how the electricity grid currently works, highlighting the current profile for supply and demand, and looks at how the introduction of electric vehicles will affect the balance. With a large number of coal and nuclear power stations to close by 2015, there is a need to fill the generation gap. The speaker explains the data from the 12 month CABLED trial (managed by ARUP), analysing people's use of electric vehicles and presenting a forecast of the potential impact of electric vehicles on the grid.
