About the session

The technical talks will centre on:   

Innovative AHT devices and technologies, mhealth, ehealth, AI, medical laboratory technology, Hospital Technology Management (HTM), training, alternative energy sources, medical informatics, sustainability, appropriate equipment donations, appropriate patient transport to hospitals and health centres from remote areas, links between healthcare facilities in industrialised countries and low resource settings.

    Dr Asiya Khan

    University of Plymouth

    Dr Asiya Khan is a lecturer in Control Systems Engineering, a member of the Autonomous Marine Systems research group and the Associate Head for Teaching and Learning in the School of Engineering, Computing and Mathematics at the University of Plymouth. Previously, she was the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Lead in the School of Engineering and successfully achieved Athena SWAN Bronze award. She has also worked as a research assistant on the EU FP7 project Adamantium. She has published three book chapters, over 60 journal and conference papers including a 'best paper award' in 2009 with an H index of 16 and i10-index of 22 (Google Scholar), is a Chartered engineer and Fellow of HEA. Her research expertise is in the field of Quality of Service/Experience (QoS/E) monitoring, prediction and control of multimedia communication over wireless access networks. Her current projects include Internet of Things for ehealth (EPIC2 project) and within the marine renewable energy sector (Marine-i project).
