Abstract

At the recent launch of the IET Code of Practice for Electrical Energy Storage Systems, 3rd Editon, speaker Michael Peace covered the key points of the Draft for Public Consultation (DPC) for Amendment 3:2024 to BS 7671:2018 and how you can have your say.

The proposed amendment follows a bulletin from BEAMA which aimed to clarify the differences between connections for unidirectional and bidirectional RCDs and circuit-breakers. The amendment, expected to be published in summer 2024, will be free to download from both the IET’s and BSI’s websites and is an addition to BS 7671:2018+A2:2022. So, to be up to date, you’ll need to have both the brown book AND copy of Amendment 3:2024.

Comments on the DPC can be submitted through BSI’s Standards Development Portal by 5 June 2024 at 5pm. Find out more and submit your comments, visit theiet.org/updates
