  • Location: IETTV_Room, IETTV_Venue, London, United Kingdom
  • Part of event IET BETTA Review 2006. Review of British Electricity Trading and Transmission Arrangements

About the session

For Scottish Hydro-Electric Transmission Ltd., the BETTA project primarily involved the separation out of the system operation and generation despatch roles to NGT for which SHETL had previous responsibility. SHETL was to retain asset ownership and the associated investment decisions, system planning and design, construction and maintenance. New interfaces were to be established with NGT in the operation of the system, outage planning and the safety switching of plant and circuits. Further interfaces were required in the provision of information of asset and system capability, and in establishing common GB scenarios for planning GB system development. All of this was to be captured in the System Operator/Transmission Owner (STC) Code.
