The Loughborough Antennas and Propagation Conference (LAPC) is the largest annual UK conference dedicated to the fields of Antennas and Propagation. LAPC, now holding its 11th event, regularly attracts 200 to 250 national and international participants from academia, research institutes, industry and government bodies.  We serve a global community; in 2014 over half our papers originated from outside the UK.  LAPC is organised each year by academics and support staff at the Wolfson School Electronic, Electrical and Systems Engineering at Loughborough University, UK

Prior to that, she received the Ph.D. degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens, Greece (2013) and the M.Sc. degree from University College London, UK (2009).Dr Kiourti has (co-) authored more than 15 refereed journal papers, more than 35 conference papers, 6 book chapters, and 2 patent applications. She has received more than 40 awards and scholarships, among which, the “Best PhD Thesis Award in NTUA” by the D. Chorafas Foundation (2013), the IEEE MTT-S “Graduate Fellowship for Medical Applications” (2012), and the IEEE AP-S “Doctoral Research Award” (2011). In 2004, she received personal recognition from the President of Greece for ranking first in the Achaias prefecture (>300,000 inhabitants) during the Pan-Hellenic University Entrance Exams.Dr. Kiourti specializes in a new class of textile antennas based on embroidered conductive fibers that can be inconspicuously integrated into the garments to realize several functionalities. She is also currently working on a four-year $2M NSF project to develop game-changing wireless and fully-passive implants for continuous and unobtrusive monitoring of deep brain signals. Her research interests include: RF antennas and circuits for medical applications, medical sensing, flexible textile and polymer-based antennas and RF circuits, and bioelectromagnetics.
