Smart metering and business transformation

The industry faces huge challenges in delivering 53 million smart meters by 2020 - it has been calculated that 1 million meters need to be installed per month until 2020, to hit this target. This seminar will explore the current position and the challenges ahead.

    Audrey Gallacher is Director of Retail Energy Supply at Energy UK, responsible for the teams working on energy retail policy, operations and the smart meter programme.Audrey has an extensive background in the energy sector, initially with the regulator Ofgem as Head of Consumer Affairs in Scotland. She moved into energy consumer advocacy in 2000 when she became National Director in Scotland for energywatch, before moving to lead its GB work on company performance, research and advice. More recently she has held Director of Energy positions with the statutory watchdog, Consumer Futures and at the charity Citizens Advice.Audrey’s role at Energy UK is about helping ensure consumers remain central in the development and delivery of our members' policies and processes. She is committed to representing an energy supply sector that delivers great service and value, and most importantly treats its customers fairly.
