Transport Innovation Fund (TIF) pump priming funds in Tyne and Wear are being used in response to the potential threats to the achievement of wider objectives posed by predicted traffic growth and worsening congestion. This presentation addresses the context of TIF in Tyne and Wear looking at local congestion and related factors. It identifies how Tyne and Wear will link the traffic and transport impacts of demand management to a broad set of economic, social and environmental performance indicators in order to provide a sound basis to inform future policy adoption by local government and partners.
