Abstract
Deputy Leader of the Labour Party delivers the opening keynote at the launch of the Future of Work Commission's independent report at IET London: Savoy Place on 11 December 2017.
As well as providing stark warnings about how the world of work will change in the coming years due to the arrival of new technology, the report also outlines how artificial intelligence and automation, for example, will offer opportunities as well as threats, as long as the right policies are put in place.
The event also featured panel sessions involving some of the report's other commissioners, discussing topics such as Skills and Innovation.
