This presentation addresses a new solar powered and solar cooled stadium, located in Qatar. The stadium is the first of its type to be entirely powered by the sun, with absorption chillers and a eutectic store to provide cooling. The stadium also features a moving roof and a real grass pitch. It is an example of a next generation building and points to future developments not only in the area of sports stadia, but also the integration of architecture with renewable technology.
