The future of computing is in people - not the chips, cores, tools or code. Training at undergraduate level cannot keep up with the pace of new development. Two examples will be touched - multicore programming and Internet of Things.

    Krzysztof Berezowski

    Thaumatec, CEO

    Dr. Krzysztof Berezowski is the founder and CEO of Thaumatec, providing IoT-focused development services to companies across Europe. Until 2014, he was a lecturer in Computer Engineering at the Wroclaw University of Technology in Wroclaw (WrUT), Poland, having received his Ph. D. (2002) and M. Eng. (1997) degrees from WrUT. His research interests were VLSI design, digital signal processing and connected embedded systems design. In 2006 he was awarded the prestigious European Commission Marie-Curie International Outgoing Fellowship, spending two years from 2007 at Arizona State University (USA) and one year from 2009 at the Institut National Polytechnique de Grenoble (FR). In 2013 he was chosen for the Polish TOP 500 Innovators program where he was resident at the University of California, Berkeley. Since 2012 he has been a member of the Board of Directors of the DASH7 Alliance. He serves as an expert in computing on both Polish national and European (FP7/H2020) levels.
