This presentation is a lecture on the life and work of Edith Clarke. Edith Clarke was the first woman to earn a degree in electrical engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and was the first female professional electrical engineer in the United States. Edith's achievements were in the application of mathematics to engineering, and she was key in developing the use of symmetrical components and their application to three-phase power systems.
