About the session

The 6th Annual conference on 5G organised by the IET RF and Microwave Technical Network is designed to examine 5G technologies and applications for the benefit of society.

This conference will bring together researchers from industry and academia to exchange their vision as well as the latest advances in bringing 5G to fruition. It aims to encourage innovative cross-domain studies, research, early deployment and large scale pilot showcases that address the challenges of 5G.

The event also provides a valuable opportunity to meet and interact with the 5G drivers in terms of wireless industry, players, researchers and stakeholders.

    Kostas Katsaros

    Kostis a 5G Technologist at Digital Catapult. He provides oversight and guidance on specific 5G system architecture and subsystem implementations to Digital Catapult projects, especially around new architectures using virtualization and edge computing.Prior to that, he was a research fellow at Institute for Communication Systems / 5G Innovation Centre (ICS/5GIC) at the University of Surrey. His research was focused on Connected and Autonomous Vehicles (CAVs) and how Mobile Edge Computing (MEC) could assist autonomous driving.Konstantinos has extensive experience on vehicular/mobile networks, where he investigated networking and transport protocols. Further, he is interested in how these networks are used to improve society and the novel business opportunities that arise from them.He has participated in several european and national projects and has co-authored more than 20 peer-reviewed technical articles and conference papers. He also holds 2 patents on hybrid vehicular networking architectures.
