This talk focuses on how technology can help to save lives and create new virtual lives for us. Medical robotics and nanorobots can greatly help doctors in modern surgery, reducing risk to the patient and helping speed recovery time. Virtual worlds and social Web sites increasingly mean we will leave a digital footprint long after we have gone, whilst augmented reality gives a different view on the normal everyday world.
