This presentation covers the thorny issue of the standards position for wireline systems. The background is discussed from the perspective of CISPR/I, and the latest situation both within CISPR/I and the CLC-ETSI Joint Working Group is detailed. The presentation covers the situation from the perspectives of the key stakeholders, broadcasters, wireline system operators, users and regulators and give an overview of the attempts to achieve a consensus of opinion as the basis for the requirements in the future standard. The current situation and future steps is described leaving the audience with an understanding of why this is such a difficult issue to solve and the steps planned to move towards an agreement
