Pamela Taylor

Ofgem, enforcement & innovation link, Partner

Pamela Taylor is a partner responsible for Ofgem’s engagement with innovation. Pamela launched Ofgem’s Innovation Link (www.ofgem.gov.uk/innovation-link), which provides a one-stop shop for innovators to obtain free advice on the regulations in the sector and the world’s first energy regulatory sandbox. Having launched in December 2016, Pamela’s team has now supported more than 100 new entrants and start-ups and are currently working through a second regulatory sandbox window. Pamela has 15 years’ experience in the energy sector. She has held various roles in Ofgem. These include her other current role as partner of enforcement, responsible for Ofgem’s investigations into non-compliance with legal obligations. Previously, she has led Ofgem’s work into the arrangements in the wholesale gas and electricity markets and been responsible for Ofgem’s European strategy. Between 2013- 2016, Pamela was an economic consultant working primarily on competition investigations and regulatory projects in the energy sector.

Rebecca is product and marketing director at Octopus Energy, a multi-award-winning challenger energy supplier. Octopus is an e-commerce specialist and digital first with product, marketing, and customer service. It’s changing the way people consume and buy energy with ground-breaking product launches like Agile Octopus, the world's first domestic energy tariff to offer half-hourly prices that reflect actual wholesale costs. From a utilities background, Rebecca was previously a head of product at Centrica-funded Hive, taking it from a 'kickabout' start-up to the leading smart home provider in the UK.
