  • Duration: 14 mins
  • Publication date: 30 Sep 2015
  • Location: NA, Electron Building, Oxford, United Kingdom
  • Part of event Space systems, services and applications

About the session

In 1800, 2% of the world population lived in urban areas. In 2000 it was 47% and by 2030 it’ll be 61%. Smarter Transport Systems are fundamental for people and goods to travel efficiently to and through Future Cities. Time is more important than distance. iGeolise developed a platform using Satellite Derived Data to enable individuals and businesses to Discover, Decide, and get Directions based on TravelTime, not distance. Deployed throughout the UK and 6 other countries, it is already generating remarkable results.

    Peter Lilley

    iGeolise, Co-Founder

For 37 years Peter has delivered innovative businesses, both within blue chip UK media companies (ITV, Mirror Group, ntl) and also as complete start-ups. With his business partner Charlie Davies, Peter founded iGeolise in 2009 based on the idea that web searches for locations didn’t work the way that humans lived. Over half of all searches from mobile devices are for locations we intend to visit (shops / restaurants / dates / houses / jobs etc) – but the only way to filter those results has been by distance. When travelling, minutes mean more than miles - so we set up iGeolise to enable searching by travel time. Over 6 years, we've built iGeolise into a business available in the UK, USA, Republic of Ireland, Switzerland, Thailand, France and Australia. We try and do every single job in the business first - then we hire people better than ourselves to do them. If you did want photos / screen grabs / logs etc, then they are all available to download from http://www.igeolise.com/media-enquiries/
