  • Location: NA, Hallam Conference Centre, London, United Kingdom
  • Part of event Addressing Ageing Aircraft Sustainment Issues

About the session

The risks associated with operating any aircraft type will inevitably change over time. New hazards related to ageing require tailored methods for their assessment and management. What is needed is a clear understanding of the “risk baseline” and the ability to incorporate the evaluation of emergent hazards. This informs risk-based decision making throughout the aircraft life cycle. Examples are used to illustrate how a clear and coherent approach to hazard management should sit at the heart of a proactive Safety Management System. This approach drives an ever-changing set of risk-reduction activities needed to maintain safety.
