Abstract
IET National Conference Chair, Keith Marshall OBE BSc FCGI CEng HonFIET, raises the issues and challenges surrounding maintaining current and continuing competence. Is that a dual responsibility of the individual and the employer to ensure current and ongoing competence is undertaken, recorded and monitored? Keith welcomes the views of employer speakers at the National Conference to consider this essential topic that is crucial to enable a supported and highly competence workforce through a commitment to lifelong learning.
