About the session
All transport modes are increasingly overloaded at peak times. Trains can be seriously overcrowded, yet simply building more railways is expensive and strongly opposed by local residents and environmental groups. "Doing nothing" is not an option, but can we get smarter? The speaker discusses how engineers and technology can help to satisfy demand in an economically, socially and politically acceptable way.
