About the session

Keynote:
Sensor, monitoring and operation optimisation developments at Siemens for large stationary gas turbines.

GTI 2016 is a well-established forum for industry, academia and business leaders to meet, publish results and share knowledge in the gas turbine instrumentation and process control sector.

The conference regularly attracts an international audience of professionals from across the measurement and control industry seeking to gain a global understanding of the very latest work and research in gas turbine instrumentation.

Measurement systems, sensors and control processes are critical for the continued development and operation of gas turbine engines and through the technical scope, the organising committee are inviting contributions on the innovative solutions for a field rich in technical challenge.

    Dr. Hans-Gerd Brummel

    Siemens

Dr. Brummel holds a master degree in Mechanical Engineering (special subjects: Energy, Process and Nuclear Engineering). He joined Kraftwerk Union AG (KWU), a Siemens / AEG enterprise, in 1978, working in the field of Reactor Safety Analysis. In late 1984 he changed subject within the company, concentrating on Combustion and Heat Transfer Research. In 1987 Siemens AG fully took over KWU and during that period gas turbines and combined cycle applications became more and more important.Within Siemens he worked in various management positions in Engineering and later in Service, extending his activities to Thermal Radiation (resulting in a PhD in Thermodynamics), Measurement Technology and Acceptance Testing.During a long term delegation (Orlando, FL) he developed and established Power Diagnostics, the Remote Monitoring Service for the Siemens Turbine Fleet. Until the present day he is actively involved in creating innovative solutions, some will be presented in his key note presentation.
